LILIAN PUBLIC SCHOOL
The Lilian Public School (LPS) was founded in 2008 in the small village of Rajeshwar, located 110 miles away from Hyderabad & 550 miles from Bangalore. The village had a population of around 18,000, consisting of people from all castes and religions.
Prior to the establishment of LPS, there was only one government-run school in the village that offered education up to the Grade-7, & had a student-teacher ratio of 80:1. |
Any child wishing to attend higher grades had to travel 10 miles to access education. The majority of the population in the village, around 95%, worked in farming or as daily wage laborers. The literacy levels in the general population were very low, with some individuals having no formal education at all.
LPS started with just grade-1, offering education to 40 students. Over the years, our school has grown significantly, & we now have over 1200 students from kindergarten to grade-12. We are proud of the progress we have made and remain committed to providing quality education to all of our students, regardless of their background or circumstances.
